New Delhi to show ‘Cinema Shahre Gheseh’

Iranian movie ‘Cinema Shahre Gheseh’ has been scheduled to compete at the 4th edition of the New Delhi Film Festival (NDFF) in India.

Directed and written by Keyvan Ali-Mohammadi and Ali-Akbar Heidari, the 100-minute movie is about the love of cinema.

“Davoud, a projector repairman who is interested in Farsi films, falls in love with a girl whose father is a staunch opponent of cinema. He tries his best to satisfy him,” a synopsis of the film reads.

The cast list of the movie includes Hamed Komeili, Anahita Dargahi, Babak Karimi, Farrokh Nemati, Siavash Mofidi, Roya Mirelmi, Fariba Jeddikar, Hedieh Tehrani, Hamid-Reza Pegah, Ali Owji, and the late Jamshid Mashayekhi.

The movie has so far gone on screen at global events such as the 19th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh and the 38th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

The opening ceremony of the 4th NDFF has been canceled due to the coronavirus situation in India.

The closing ceremony of the gala will go online and announce the winners on March 28, 2021.
