AmDocs to screen ‘Children of the Night’

The American Documentary and Animation Film Festival and Film Fund (AmDocs) in the US has scheduled to screen Iranian doc ‘Children of the Night’.

Directed by Behrouz Nouranipour, the Iranian feature-length documentary will vie at the competition section of the 10th edition of the US event.

Produced by the Center for Expansion of Documentary and Experimental Cinema, the 87-minute ‘Children of the Night’ is about the life of child soldiers in wars.

“A child soldier, craving heroin, with a Kalashnikovs in hand has been involved in more than fifty ISIS wars and conflicts. Balanche is among the first child soldiers to tell his stories and observations of one of the most terrifying wars in the world in full detail, along with his four other companions,” the website of the AmDocs reads.

The Iranian doc was premiered at the documentary competition section of the 25th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.

It has also gone on screen at the official section of the 50th Giffoni Film Festival in Italy.

With the first edition held in April 2012, the AmDocs is a forum to celebrate and promote documentary film, and the independent filmmakers around the world who bring knowledge and awareness through their stories about real people and issues.

The 10th edition of the prestigious event of AmDocs is slated for March 26-April 4, 2021, in Palm Springs, California.
