AmDocs to screen ‘Girl with Blue Eyes’

The American Documentary and Animation Film Festival and Film Fund (AmDocs) in the US has scheduled to screen ‘The Girl with the Blue Eyes’ by an Iranian documentarian.

Directed by Iranian documentarian Alireza Mirasadollah, the short doc will compete at the 10th edition of the US event.

‘The Girl with the Blue Eyes’ tells the life story of a girl whose eyes have become a tourist attraction!

“An Phouc is an 11 years old girl from Vietnam. Her pairs of big bright blue eyes attracted many photographers from all around the world to visit her. She is one of the Vietnam tourist attractions icons but despite all that, An Phouc and her family are suffering from poverty and struggling with racism,” the website of the AmDocs reads.

With the first edition held in April 2012, the AmDocs is a forum to celebrate and promote documentary film, and the independent filmmakers around the world who bring knowledge and awareness through their stories about real people and issues.

The 10th edition of the AmDocs is slated for March 26-April 4, 2021, in Palm Springs, California.
