‘Sun Children’ by mega director Majid Majidi is slated to get theatrical release in Spanish cinemas.
The dubbed version of Iranian submission to the 2021 Oscars opens in Spanish cinemas and will be screened on May 14 for the Spanish audience members.
Majidi’s film is about child labor. It narrates the story of a 12-year-old boy and his three friends, who have been asked by a neighborhood crime boss to find a treasure buried underground.
The film received its global premiere at the 77th Venice International Film Festival in Italy.
Rouhollah Zamani, one of the teenagers who took part in the movie gained an award for Best Young Actor at the Italian event.
The flick was shortlisted for the Best International Feature Film at the 2021 Oscars. The Iranian submission, however, failed to join the top five movies in this category.
