Narges Abyar launches masterclass in Scotland

Renowned Iranian filmmaker Narges Abyar has held a masterclass for cineastes in Scotland.

The award-winning writer and director has launched an online masterclass in cooperation with the Liberal Cinema Institute in the city of Edinburg.

During the event, Abyar’s ‘Breath’ movie was screened followed by Q&A.

Launched in 1995, the Liberal Cinema is a non-profit institute that introduces, restores and displays the world cinema heritage, regularly showing outstanding cinema films and holding masterclasses.

Produced by Mohammad-Hossein Ghassemi and Abouzar Pourmohammadi, ‘Breath’ depicts the daily life of a daydreaming little girl, Bahar, and her persistent efforts to discover the world so she can experience life with all its sweetness and bitterness in her own way.

Director Narger Abyar has won awards from many national and international film festivals, including the Best Director award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

Abyar’s movie ‘When the Moon was Full’ won six awards at the 37th Fajr Film Festival.
