Series showing Iran attire decades ago

Some new Iranian series are set more than four decades ago and the custom designers need to choose the clothes for actors with utmost care for more credibility of the story.

The dressing fashion changes over time and this fact should be reflected in series and movies set a few decades ago.

In Iran, the 1980s is a memorable portion of Iranian history when the Iraq-Iran war was in full swing and people in the country made unforgettable sacrifices to defend national integrity and sovereignty.

Iranian directors have made a number of great series narrating a story set in those days and at that time. The costume design of such shows is of interest to the viewers as they get nostalgic by watching their favorite actors’ clothes, which were in style a few decades back.

The Iranian dressing style in the 1980s has its own characteristics. The woman wore patterned scarves and long, loose coats known as manteaus with hidden shoulder Epaulettes attached to the inner side.

Men also wore turtleneck sweaters, long overcoats with pleated pants a bit on the excessive side.

Below are some photos from one of these new series showing Iranians dressed in such style of dressing.
