See Ahvaz city in flowery colors

Bougainvillea plants have painted flowery the Iranian city of Ahvaz.

The capital city of Khuzestan Province in southwest of Iran is home to Bougainvillea flowers.

The city streets become all pink and red in spring when the plants blossom.

Although Bougainvillea is a South American native plant, it can be found abundantly in the Iranian provinces of Mazandaran, Fars and Khuzestan as well.
