'Khoniyar’s Children' to vie in Italy

Iranian documentary 'Khoniyar’s Children' has been selected to compete at the 69th edition of the Trento Film Festival in Italy.

Directed by Arman Qolipour-Dashtaki, the documentary narrates the story of four siblings, who are all over 70 and never married.

They are all isolated and live together as the villagers have shunted them for they believe the four of them are ominous and bring bad luck for the residents of the village.

The documentary was previously nominated for the best short documentary award at the 18th Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in the US.

It also grabbed the best documentary and editing awards at the 37th Tehran Short Film Festival.

The Trento Film Festival will host films from around the world and provides a platform for the filmmakers to show their works in the time of COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 edition of the event will be held online on April 30-May 9.
