Tehran to host virtual Quran exhibition

The International Holy Quran Exhibition of Tehran has been scheduled to go online, due to the coronavirus situation, in May.

The previous edition of the exhibition was canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak; so, this edition will be held online to help contain the spread of the virus.

Organized every year during the holy month of Ramadan, known as the spring of the Holy Quran, the virtual edition of the exhibition will start on May 1 and will run for ten days.

The organizers announced that copies of the Holy Quran published by various Iranian and international publishers as well as books on the Iraq-Iran war (1980-1988), known as Sacred Defense, will be available at the expo.

The annually-held exhibit will also dedicate sections to display top translations and interpretations of the Holy Quran.

Dozens of publishers from other countries are also scheduled to showcase their latest offerings on the Holy Quran.

A 20 percent discount is planned to be offered by the publishers on their products.

A virtual exhibition displaying a collection of calligraphy works on the Holy Quran and Nahj-ul-Balagha of Imam Ali (AS) opened on Saturday at the Saba Art and Cultural Institute in Tehran.

More than 100 works on the theme of artistic etiquettes and culture of worship are being showcased at the exhibit organized in collaboration with the Iranian Calligraphers Association and Mahmud Farshchian University of Islamic-Iranian Arts.

The artworks have been created by young and veteran artists in various styles of Persian and Arabic calligraphy, including nastaliq, shekasteh, naskh, and thulth.

The exhibition is running on the virtual page and the website of the Saba Art and Cultural Institute until May 10.
