Leila Hatami contracts coronavirus

Iranian actress Leila Hatami has been diagnosed with the coronavirus.

The star of the Iranian cinema and her mother contracted coronavirus. While Leila was released from the hospital, her mother is still being taken care of in intensive care unit (ICU).

Born in 1972, Hatami is the daughter of renowned Iranian director Ali Hatami and has appeared in a number of her father’s films, even as a child actress, including ‘Hezar Dastan’ (1987), ‘Kamal-ol-Molk’ (1984) and ‘The Devoted’ (1992).

Her first appearance in a leading role was in the film ‘Leila’ (1997).

Appearing in movies such as ‘Sheida’ (1999), ‘The Deserted Station’ (2002), ‘Season Salad’ (2005), ’40 Years Old’ (2010), ‘A Separation’ (2011), ‘There Are Things You Don’t Know’ (2011) and ‘The Orange Suit’ (2011) scored the actress nominations of Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Fajr International Film Festival.

In 2012, she was nominated for the Asian Film Award and People's Choice Award at the Asian Film Awards for her role in ‘A Separation’ (2011).
