During a program named the New Wave of Iranian cinema, a restorated version of Dariush Mehrjouee’s award-winning classic ‘The Cow’ will be on screen at the Sinema Transtopia in Berlin.
The screenings will take place by the end of May, according to a media report.
‘The Cow’ is the story of a village man who has invested all his joy and happiness on his cow. When the cow is mysteriously killed, the man will not come into terms with the loss and stays by the dead animal in the stable.
The man will not be disillusioned to the extent that he metamorphosizes into his cow.
Late Ezzatollah Entezami, Ali Nassiriyan, Mahmoud Dolatabadi are among the cast members of Mehrjouee’s 1969 masterpiece.
In 1971, the movie was screened at the Venice International Film Festival in Italy and gained the FIPRECI award of the event.
