Iranian short ‘Bedbug’ to vie in Nigeria

Iranian short film ‘Bedbug’ has been selected to compete at the 6th edition of the Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) in Nigeria.

Written and directed by Pourya Osati, the short title narrates the story of a girl named Alaa who lives in a dorm.

Alaa’s objection to the watchman of the dorm results in a quarrel with him.

Produced by Saman Heidari, the short film has previously participated in the 14th edition of the Davis Feminist Film Festival in the US.

The cast of ‘Bedbug’ includes Sahar Setvat, Marzieh Sepehri, Elham Heidari, Babak Jafarieh, Ayat Asadi-Rahbar, Kobra Qaregouzlou, Mansour Nobakht, Maryam Eslami, Touba Pakestani, Mahdieh Rezaee, Ghazal Heidari, Negin Bairamzadeh and Milad Parvar.

The RTF aims, “To build a truly International, all-inclusive and remotely accessible Film Festival”. It champions an artistic baseline where equity and openness are enhanced among creative artists, filmmakers and film enthusiasts.

The event is slated for July 20-21, 2012.
