Tanbur, ancient Iranian string instrument

Tanbur is one of the oldest Iranian stringed instruments and is known as the mother of stringed instruments.

Historians and experts estimate that Tanbur dates back as far as 6,000 years.

Dalahu County in Kermanshah Province is one of the main manufacturers of Tanbur in Iran.

Last year, Dalahu, which is home to tens of Tanbur workshops, was named the national village of Tanbur.
