Fine Arts fest to host Sky Sun, Tile Sun

Iranian short animation ‘Sky Sun, Tile Sun’ has been selected to compete at the 8th edition of the Fine Arts Film Festival (FAFF) in the US.

Directed by Ziba Arzhang, the 6-minute animation is about a city painted on a tile that undergoes intense explosion and bombardment.

Due to the incident, the sun breaks into many pieces and the city gets dark. But the people build a new sun together.

In the production of the flick, Arzhang has taken benefit of Iranian art manifested in the form of beautiful tile works.

Also set to compete at the River International Film Festival in Italy and the Washington DC International Film Festival in the US, ‘Sky Sun, Tile Sun’ participated in some global events, including the Sonoma International Film Festival in the US and the London Kurdish Film Festival in the UK.

The FAFF aims to show films from around the world. The festival provides an opportunity for international filmmakers to showcase their works.

The 2021 edition of the event is slated for June 8-14.

Iranian animation ‘Light Sight’ won the Best Student Film award at the 2017 edition of the FAFF and ‘Kupal’ received the Best Cinematography Award at the 2018 edition of the event.
