Isfahan must-try local cuisine

There is little better than local delicacies when you explore a country and here is a round-up of three incredibly interesting local dishes in Iranian Isfahan Province.

1. Persian Biryani

Persian Biryani is one of the most famous traditional foods in Isfahan. This food has a special place in the food heritage of this province and has a very delicious taste. The best type of this local dish is prepared with fresh mutton.

Biryani is a greasy, nutritious, rich and tasty food that is made of minced mutton, mint, onion, saffron and cinnamon and is usually served with minced white liver and bread.

2. Lamb and Yogurt Stew

Lamb and Yogurt Stew is served cold as a snack or dessert with food and in this respect bears no resemblance to Iranian stews.

Yogurt stew is one of the most delicious foods in Isfahan that many people like and because of the name stew on it, they think that this food, like other stews, should be eaten with rice; however, the yogurt stew, along with the main course and on separate plates, is a staple of big functions and wedding parties.

 

3. Yellow Kebab

Yellow Kebab or Kebab Moshtee is one of the traditional types of kebabs in Isfahan Province made with minced meat, onion, turmeric, chickpea flour and spices.

This local delicacy is very tasty and a good fit as a delicious choice for dinner that will undoubtedly make you fall in love with it. Turmeric or Persian carrot is a very useful and sweet taste plant. Besides containing phosphorus, potassium, manganese, zinc and iron, it has numerous health benefits, including strengthening the immune system, helping to lose weight and improving digestion.
