Italy Cinematografo reveals Farhadi film details

Online version of longest-running Italy cinema periodical Cinematografo has revealed a short synopsis of Iranian auteur Asghar Farhadi's new movie 'A Hero'.

The latest movie 'A Hero' by Oscar-winning Iranian director Asghar Farhadi is set to be screen at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival in France.

Recently a short synopsis of the flick has been released by the online version of longest-running Italy cinema periodical cinematografo that reads, "Rahim is in prison due to a debt he was unable to pay back. During a two-day leave, he tries to persuade the creditor to withdraw his complaint. But things don't go as planned...."

Farhadi's previous 'Everybody Knows', a Spanish-language mystery drama with Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, opened the Cannes Film Festival in 2018.

He produced “A Hero” with his regular collaborator, Alexandre Mallet-Guy at Memento Films Production, who teamed with Farhadi on his last three movies. Amazon Studios has acquired the US rights to the film.

'A Hero' competes for the prestigious Palme d'Or prize at the latest edition of the Cannes set to run in July 2021.
