‘Yadoo’ to vie at Chantilly in France

Iranian feature ‘Yadoo’ has been shortlisted for the competition section at the Iranian Cinema Festival of Chantilly in France.

Mehdi Jafari’s ‘Yadoo’ will compete along with six other films in the festival next November.

The film tells the story of a family in the city of Abadan during the first days of the 1980-88 Iraq’s imposed war on Iran.

The family, a mother and three children, stay in the city while the other families in the neighborhood are leaving.

This is the story of how hard is it to leave a city one has lived there for an age.

The other competing films include ‘Mehran’ and ‘African Violet’.

The first edition of the Iranian Cinema Festival of Chantilly was initially scheduled for March, but was postponed to November 4-7 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The festival offers a platform for talented Iranian directors to introduce their works to the world arena.

The Iranian Cinema Festival of Chantilly is organized by the Franco-Iranian Center in collaboration with the municipalities of Chantilly and Senlis as well as several Iranian art institutions and film production companies.

The upcoming edition of the event will take place on November 4-7.
