Greek fest to receive Iran’s short

Iranian short flick ‘Gabriel’ is slated to take part in the International Alexandria Short Film Festival in Greece.

Directed by Yousef Kargar, the short flick will be screened at the main competition section of the Greek event’s 7th edition.

The 18-minute film, made in Turkish language, tells the story of a father who has to choose between love, faith, and conscience in difficult conditions.

‘Gabriel’ has had various shooting locations, but it has mainly been filmed by the Lake Urmia located between the Iranian provinces of East Azarbaijan and West Azarbaijan.

The film has already been shown at a number of international film events, including the Berkeley Video & Film Festival in the US, the Cheongju International Short filmfest in South Korea, and the Flickers’ Rhode Island International filmfest in the US.

Launched in 2015, the International Alexandria Short Film Festival powered by Cultural and Cinematography Club of Alexandria KINIMATODRASIS aims to take on the best short films from around the world.

This year’s edition of the fest is set to be held on July 1-4.
