iFilm interviews teenage stars of Iran Oscar submission ‘Sun Children’ by internationally renowned Iranian director Majid Majidi.
In an iFilm show titled, “iFilm Cinema”, teenage stars of ‘Sun Children’ talked about their experiences of seeing their performances as non-professional actors on the silver screen for the first time.
The teenagers played their own life as child laborers before Majidi’s latest movie.
One of the teenage actors said that “I broke in tears the moment I saw my performance in the movie.”
Iranian filmmaker Majidi’s Venice competition drama ‘Sun Children’ tells the story of a teenager and his three friends. Together, they work hard to survive and support their families, doing small jobs in a garage.
Majidi was the first Iranian director to receive an Oscar nomination for ‘Children of Heaven’ (1997).
‘Sun Children’ by Academy Award Nominated Majidi was selected as Iran’s Oscar entry in April 2021.
