The National Palace of Culture hosted the project on Monday night, which is the dramatized version of some parts of the Shahnameh of Ferdowsi, the world-renowned 11th century Persian epic poet.
The performance received a great welcome from Bulgarians, as all the tickets of the first night were sold a few days ago.
The play will be performed for two years (about one performance in a month) by a team of 20 in one of the best theaters in Bulgaria which has 400 seats.
The Shahnameh (the Book of Kings) is a long epic poem written by the Persian poet Ferdowsi and is regarded as the national epic of Iran.
Shahnameh tells mainly the mythical and, to some extent, the historical past of the Persian Empire from the creation of the world.
