Explore Private Palace in Pasargadae

Pasargadae is one of the most important historical sites in Iran and in the world. The city encompasses a number of structures that attract tourists and also archeologists.

Pasargadae was the first dynastic capital of the Achaemenid Empire, founded by Cyrus II the Great in the 6th century BC.

One of the structures in this historical site is known as the Private Palace. The palace has been abandoned for years and what is now passed on to us is a small portion of it.

As mentioned in the official website of the historical site, the palace is known for its one surviving column or pier and has a similar plan to that of the Audience Palace with a central columned hall sliced open by stone doorways in all four walls.

The palace has a great view of the once meticulously designed garden in the historical complex.

Check the links to know more about other parts of the Pasargadae city including Stone Tower, Mozaffari Caravanserai, and winged-man relief.
