Let’s embark on virtual tour of Saint Thaddeus

For an up-close look into fascinating Saint Thaddeus Monastery in Iranian province of West Azarbaijan, don’t miss reading this news piece.

Director of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts department in West Azarbaijan said to local media that Saint Thaddeus Monastery can be viewed virtually for those interested in one of the oldest and most notable surviving Armenian monuments in Iran.

Jalil Jabbari added, “This virtual tour is offered in five languages: Turkish, Kurdish, Persian, Armenian, and English and those interested can choose the language of their choice.”

The edifice dating back to the 7th century is an example of Armenian architectural and decorative traditions in Iran.

In 2008, the Armenian Monastic Ensemble of Iran comprising three Armenian Christian religious sites, including St Thaddeus, was registered on UNESCO’s World Heritage list.
