Kuhshar, largest man-made waterfall in Iran

Kuhshar, the largest artificial waterfall in Iran, has been inaugurated in the holy city of Mashhad.

Like other places with water, the project has a calming impact on people.

Besides the 190-meter high waterfall, the complex includes waterways with a length of more than 250 meters, a river --which is 4.5 meters wide and 3,000 meters long--, and a lake with an area of 4,200 square meters.

The inauguration of the project took place on the National Marriage Day in Iran, which fell on July 12 this year.

The wedding anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (AS), the daughter of Islam’s Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), and Imam Ali (AS), the first Shia Imam, is designated as the National Marriage Day in Iran.
