Yazd, historic city full of life

Yazd is a city in central part of Iran with an intact historical fabric which is full of life.

Yazd was constructed thousands of years ago in the heart of desert. Water is brought to the city by the qanat system.

The city is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The historical fabric of the city is known as one of the most intact and extensive historical residential regions in Iran that covers an area of 700 hectares.

The unique historical fabric of Yazd consists of ancient back alleys, houses and buildings made of mudbricks.

Among the features of Yazd are its dense and compact fabric, fully fenced urban areas, covered and irregular alleyways, connected and adjacent buildings, narrow alleys, as well as high walls.

People are still living in the historic part of the city where life is going on.
