Russian fest hosting Iranian ‘Crab’

Iranian animation ‘Crab’ has been vying at the 2021 Insomnia Animation Film Festival in Russia.

Directed by Shiva Sadeq-Asadi, the 11-minute animation narrates the story of a reserved and isolated schoolboy who is a theater enthusiast.

Regardless of his emotional situation, he wishes to play a role in the theater group of his school.

But the only part offered to him is the role of a crab.

The film has already taken part in a number of global events, including the Ottawa International Animation Fest in Canada, the Countryside Animafest Cyprus film festival and the Shanghai International filmfest in China.

The Insomnia Film Festival hosts films from around the world and screens them during the festival nights. Attendees can participate in festival activities such as workshops, exhibitions and performances during the day.

The event takes place every year in an eye-catching area surrounded by forest and river.

The 2021 edition of the festival started on July 15 and will end on July 19.
