The 12th edition of the Oscar qualifying event will host Javad Atefeh’s award-winning short film.
‘Do.Solo.Pin’ is about the social life of a young woman who is giving care to an elderly man. The decisions the young woman makes will of course be of consequences.
The short flick has already taken part in a number of global film events, including the Marina Del Rey filmfest and the Burbank filmfest, both in the US.
It has won a handful of awards such as the Best Narrative award at the Venice Short Film Awards in Italy and the Best Drama Short at the CFIFF film event in Australia.
Founded in 2009, the BLFF aims to provide grounds for new generation of filmmakers to emerge. It also means to make Atlanta, the festival location, as the center for people of color.
This year’s edition of the fest is slated for August 17-22.
