Brazilian fest to host ‘Do.Solo.Pin’

Iranian short film ‘Do.Solo.Pin’ has been selected to compete at the 32nd edition of the Sao Paulo International Short Film Festival in Brazil.

Written and directed by Javad Atefeh, the short film is about the social life of a young woman who is giving care to an elderly man. The decisions the young woman makes will of course be of consequences.

The cast of the short includes Atefeh Pakbaznia, Karim Ashtari, Yousef Jahandoust and Pajand Soleimani.

Produced by Ehsan Pakbaznia, ‘Do.Solo.Pin’ has previously participated in a number of global film festivals including the Marina Del Rey filmfest and the Burbank filmfest, both in the US.

The flick has also received the Best Narrative award at the Venice Short Film Awards in Italy and the Best Drama Short at the CFIFF film event in Australia.

Stated in the official website of the Brazilian event, “Culture is the most faithful and democratic human tool to create other possible worlds”. The festival aims to “promote the personal and sociocultural development of young people through the audiovisual”.

The event will be held on August 19-29, 2021.
