The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported on Wednesday that ‘Dualpa’ won the audience award for best international short film at the RIFF.
Written and directed by Mohammad-Reza Moradi, the 18-minute film is about a young man who meets a strange old man while he was looking for a legendary creature in the deserts of Iran.
He agrees to help the old man to find his tribe’s holy book in return for receiving a treasure.
The difficulty of his mission is that he should carry the old man, according to a synopsis for the film.
The 15th edition of the RIFF took place on July 1-25, 2021.
In the festival, “we encounter stories, techniques and people that are all very different, but are united by the idea that Cinema can offer a spectacular wide-open window on multiculturality through images from all over the world,” the event’s website reads.
