Quranic verses performed in chorus

Choral singing is one of the most popular participation forms in the performing arts and Iranian choral music takes such spiritual performance to the next level.

Iran’s Ordibehesht Choir performed the ‘Opening’ Surah (chapter) of the Holy Quran under the baton of famed Iranian conductor Hamid Askari.

Choral music should be spiritual and the Iranian ensemble made the best choice by performing verses of the Holy Quran in chorus.

The English translation of the Opening chapter reads, “In the Name of God, The most Gracious, The most Merciful. Praise be to God, the Lord of the Worlds. The most Gracious, The most Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment.

You [alone] do we worship and You [alone do we call on for help. Guide us along the straight way. The way of those whom You have blessed, not of those who earn your anger nor of those who go astray.”

Choral music is music performed by a group of singers or a choir. The singers may perform without accompaniment, or may be accompanied by any instrumental combination, from piano to full orchestra.
