Let’s catch “grumpy cat” in Iran

The mountainous areas of Iran are home to a small wild cat with adorable look known as the Pallas’s cat.

The so-called “grumpy cat” may look like lazy house cats, but the similarity does not hold true. As they have made home to one of the most difficult places to live in the world, the Himalayas.

Pallas' cats have the longest and densest fur of any cat. Their fur is nearly twice as long on their belly and tail as on their top and sides.

The Pallas's cat, also called manul, can be found across central Asia and as far west as Iran. Below are some shots of the small wild cat captured by wildlife camera traps in various Iranian national parks and protected areas, including Salouk National park, North Khorasan Province.

The video attached to this feature shows the wild cat in a country outside Iran.
