IFF-San Francisco to screen ‘Zaghchi’

Iran’s short flick ‘Zaghchi’ has made its way to the Iranian Film Festival-San Francisco (IFF-San Francisco) in the US.

The short flick will be screened at the 14th Iranian Film Festival-San Francisco next month.

Directed by Soroush Hosseinjani, the 20-minute film is about a 16-year-old teenager who risks his life “to save his mother to maintain his family status and escape from poverty. Nevertheless, he walks into a dangerous game and has no other choice but to fight it”, a synopsis for the film reads.

The film’s cast members include Vahid Nikrad, Hamid Mahindoust, Masoud Baharloo, Leila Boushehri, Mahyar Rahat-Talab, Kambiz Banan, Hafez Esmi-Khani and Zahra Namvar.

The IFF-San Francisco, is the first independent Iranian film festival outside of Iran.

This year, the festival will screen 60 films from Iran, and other countries, including the US, the UK, Italy, Canada, Germany, France, China, Bulgaria, and Tunisia.

The 14th annual Iranian Film Festival – San Francisco will take place on September 18-19.
