Towering Kalouts standing in hug

Towering Kalouts (Yardangs) in Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan are among the natural attractions of desert areas in the country.

In the attached video, you can watch two Kalouts in the Lut desert standing in a hug.

In desert areas, the ridges between the U-shaped furrows made by erosion are called Kalouts. The top of these ridges is flat and the sides facing the wind have steep slopes. Yardangs are often found in the soft sediments of dried-out lakes and in some deserts around the world, including the Lut desert in Iran.

Yardangs become elongated features constantly changing their sizes and shapes due to erosion without any human intervention, and when viewed from above, they resemble the hull of a boat.
