‘Benjamin’ to vie at SICAF South Korea

Iranian animated film ‘Benjamin’ is scheduled to be screened at the Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival in South Korea.

Produced by Mostafa Hasanabadi, ‘Benjamin’ has officially made way to the 25th edition of the festival.

"Benjamin’s clumsy yet sweet friend, Asher, screws up, prompting the capture of Benjamin’s mother by the king’s soldiers. Benjamin decides to embark on a hazardous journey to save his mother. This marks the beginning of Asher and Benjamin’s adventures,” reads a synopsis for Mohsen Enayati’s film.

Bahman Sabz Cultural Center, which previously premiered award-winning and widely-respected animations ‘The Elephant King’ and ‘Princess of Rome’, has the broadcast rights agreement of ‘Benjamin’.

The SICAF is an annual showcase festival of animation, cartoon and related art genres held in Seoul, South Korea since 1995. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the city of Seoul.

The festival has exhibitions, showing of animation films, promotion booths and various special events. There are an official competition section and invited guest section. Awards are given to the categories of long animation, short animation, TV & commissioned works, and internet animation.

This year’s edition of the event is slated for October 1-4.
