Eftekharzadeh won the second best actor award for his role in the Iranian drama ‘Komur’ (charcoal).
Written and directed by Esmaeel Monsef, the flick narrates the story of Gheirat, a modest charcoal producer, who is pushed into a tragic spiral after his son is sentenced to jail.
The Turkish-language drama went on screen at a number of global events, including the Asian Film Festival Barcelona in Spain, the Paris Iranian Film Festival, as well as the Pune International Film Festival, the Chennai International Film Festival, the Guwahati International Film Festival, and the Bengaluru International Film Festival, all in India.

The ImagineIndia’s award for best actor went to Ali Suliman for his role in the Palestinian drama ‘200 Meters’.
Best actress was presented to Maryna Koshkina from Ukraine for her role in ‘Blindfold’, and Nimisha Sajayan from India received second best actress award for her role in ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’.
The Critic´s Choice Award went to Indian actor Swastika Mukherjee for the role in ‘House of Cards’.
Wen Cao Zhou from China grabbed the award for best director of photography for ‘Cafe by the Highway’. Second prize of the same category was presented to Aliev Murat and Akjol Bekbolotov from Kyrgyzstan for ‘Shambala’.
‘The Miniaturist of Junagadh’ by Kaushal Oza from India won the award for best short film, and Shahriar Azim from the US won the award for second best short film for ‘American Anomie’.
