Brazil to host Iran film

Iranian movie ‘Without Aban’ is scheduled to represent Iran at the Sao Paulo Film Festival (SPFF) in Brazil.  

Directed by Mehrdad Kouroshnia, will be screened at the feature films competition section of the 45th edition of the festival.

Co-written by Kouroshnia himself and Ali Asghari, the film is about a man named Aban, who works as a forester.

While Aban was planning his wedding with a girl called Sahar, he witnessed an accident on the road.

In the accident, a little girl dies, even though she was transferred to the hospital by Aban.

Aban suffers a pang of conscience and admits that he killed a girl in an accident about 15 years ago and buried her somewhere, a synopsis for the film reads.

The SPFF, also known internationally as Mostra, is an annual film festival held in the city of São Paulo to bring outstanding filmmakers from worldwide to exchange experience with the Brazilian audience and professional colleagues.   

The SPFF is dedicated to the discovery and development of new artists. The festival supports and inspires independent short films from around the world.  

This year’s edition of the festival is slated for November.
