Kerman added to Iran’s golden triangle of tourism

The ancient historical city of Kerman has been added to Iran’s golden triangle of tourism, which already includes Isfahan, Shiraz, and Yazd.

According to an Iranian official with the Planning and Budget Organization (PBO), the golden triangle of tourism was defined years ago with cities like Isfahan, Shiraz, and Yazd. And this year, Kerman has been added to the list as well.

Kerman has been a cultural melting pot since old age. It is home to many historical sites and scenic landscapes such as Bazaar-e Sartasari (end-to-end Bazaar), Jabalieh Dome, Ganjali Khan Bathhouse, Malek Jameh Mosque, and Shahdad Desert to name a few.

The golden ‘triangle’ offers travelers an epitome of Iran both in terms of the historical sites and cultural identity.

Named as Iran’s 2020 Book Capital, Shiraz is known as the heartland of the Persian culture for over 2000 years. The name of Shiraz is synonymous with education, nightingales, poetry, and crafts skills passed down from generation to generation.

In 2017, Yazd city in Iran made a World Heritage Site due to its historical structure that is teemed with mud brick houses that are equipped with innovative Badgirs (wind catchers), atmospheric alleyways, and many Islamic and Iranian monuments that shape its eye-catching city landscape.

Isfahan, with the nickname Nesf-e-Jahan which is translated into half the world, is one of Iran’s top tourist destinations for good reasons.

The huge Imam Square, best known as Naghsh-e Jahan Square, is one of the largest in the world and a majestic example of town planning.
