France to host Iran animation

Iranian short ‘The Cycling Wind’ is slated to vie at the 2021 Festival international de Rennes Court Métrange in France.

Directed by Nazanin Sobhan-Sarbandi, the 6-minute animation will represent Iran in a competition with films from Czech Republic, France, Germany, Serbia, Canada and Russia at the 17th edition of the event.

‘The Cycling Wind’ is an adaptation of a story written by Farhad Hassanzadeh and is about a young wind that comes into possession of a bike, which helps the wind to blow even faster without spending much energy.

The animation has previously gone on screen at several global events, including the Glasgow Short Film Festival in Scotland, the Dytiatko International Children’s Media Festival in Ukraine, the International Film Festival for Children and Youth KINOLUB in Poland, the Tumbleweeds Film Festival for Kids in the US, and the Canterbury Anifest festival in the UK.

“The festival international de Rennes Court Métrange devotes its time and energy to screening and promoting the strange and unusual in Fantasy film,” the official website of the event wrote.

This year's edition of the festival is slated for September 27- October 1.
