Iran religious building graced by interior design

Biglar-Beigi Tekkiyeh in Iran’s Kermanshah Province is a religious building graced by detailed interior design.

A massive mirror hall with remarkable interior designs and a good number of inscriptions dating back to the Qajar era are among the attractions of this religious and historical building.

The center was built by Abdollah Khan also known as Biglar-Beigi and is known as one of the tourist spots in the western Iranian province.

A Tekkiyeh is a place where Shia Muslims gather during the Islamic lunar months of Muharram and Safar, holding ceremonies to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam and other religious occasions.

Tekkiyehs are specific locations for mourners who meet and participate in religious gatherings, before head out on the streets in groups known as dasteh (literally meaning cluster) to perform mourning.
