Migratory birds flock into Iran

Iran's Islands in Khour Mousa (Mousa Estuary) host flocks of migratory birds every year, offering appealing banquets for breeding waterbirds.

More than 20 species of breeding waterbirds and other migratory birds have a seasonal journey to the estuary and stay around its Islands up until late October.

Situated in Iran's Khuzestan Province, Kour Mousa is one of the strategic waterways in the country with uninhabited islands.

Dara Island at the mouth of the estuary is an un-inhabited island and no human lives inside it, and the only permanent residents here are small rodents and reptiles that have turned the whole island into their property.
