Mountain Climbing Day in Iran: Photos

Iran has numerous mountains, with Mount Damavand being the tallest mountain in the country.

Iranians observe Mountain Climbing Day on the 29th day of the Persian calendar month of Mehr, which falls on October 21 this year.

The day is observed in order to encourage athletes to climb higher mountains.
