Arranged by the Iranian Culture Center, the exhibition was inaugurated on Wednesday and will stay open to visitors for 10 days.
Among the participants at the inauguration ceremony of the event were the Pakistan Calligraphers Association, Iranian Consul General Mohammad Reza Nazeri, and Jafar Ronas, Director of Iranian Culture Center at Punjab Art Gallery.
In this exhibition, some 40 works of famous Iranian calligraphers including Ali Reza Kadkhodaee, Dr. Kazem Khorasani, and Massoud Saffar have been put on display.
Also, 17 calligraphers of Punjab Province including Aslam Kamal, Homayoun Khan Bangesh, Shafiq Farooqi, and Khalid Mahmood Siddiqi have been exhibiting their precious works.
Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General of Iran in Lahore said that, “The opening of the exhibition of famous Iranian and Pakistani calligraphers in Lahore, the cultural center of this country, will strengthen relations between the two countries.”
He called the art of calligraphy the common heritage of the two countries.
