Iranian to serve on jury at Carthage

Iranian filmmaker Ahmad Bahrami has been selected to serve as juror at the upcoming edition of the Carthage Film Festival (CFF) in Tunisia.

Bahrami will serve on the jury panel at the 32nd edition of the CFF, along with figures from other countries such as Italy, Egypt, and Morocco.

Bahrami is also an actor. He holds a bachelor’s degree in directing cinema.

The 50-year-old director has made several short films before directing feature films.

He is famous for his features ‘Panah’ and ‘The Wasteland’.

‘The Wasteland’ has been awarded at the Venice Film Festival in Italy. It will also be screened at the World Cinema section of the Tunisian festival.

The film is about hard working conditions and complex human relationships between several families living in a working environment.

The CFF is the oldest film festival still active in Africa. It was initially founded as a biennial event, but it has been held annually since 2014. It is also one of the most prestigious film festivals in the Arab world.

The 32nd edition of CFF will open on October 30 and run until November 6.
