Iranian ‘Crab’ to vie at German fest

Iranian animation ‘Crab’ has been selected to compete at the 37th edition of the Interfilm International Short Film Festival Berlin in Germany.

Directed by Shiva Sadeq-Asadi, the 11-minute animation narrates the story of a reserved and isolated schoolboy who is a theater enthusiast.

Regardless of his emotional situation, he wishes to play a role in the theater group of his school.

But the only part offered to him is the role of a crab.

The animation has already taken part in a number of global events, including the Ottawa International Animation Fest in Canada, the Countryside Animafest Cyprus film festival, and the Shanghai International filmfest in China.

Every November, the Interfilm festival brings the audience more than 400 short films. The festival includes special programs, regional focuses, film talks, workshops, concerts, parties and networking meetings as well as industry events.

The event will be held on November 16-21, 2021.
