Fajr Film Festival calls for entries

The Fajr Film Festival (FFF) in Iran has announced call for entries.

The 40 edition of the event directed by Masoud Naqqashzadeh announced call for entries on Wednesday.

Naqqashzadeh is also one of the cultural and cinematic directors of the country. He holds a doctorate in art studies. He has experience working in Iran’s Farabi Cinema Foundation, Iran’s House of Cinema, and the Visual Media Institute.

This year’s edition of the event contains two main Cultural and Competition Sections.

Since its establishment in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival, which also runs in an international version, has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

The FFF coincides with the ten-day Fajr (Dawn) ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Iran’s Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) has recently been accredited by the FIAPF, a Belgium-based regulator of international film festivals.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran every year.
