While many tourist rush to Hamedan to see places like Alisadr Cave, the city has a plethora of other sightseeing attractions to be visited and Alaviyan dome is such a spot.
There are many historical monuments in Iran that belong to the Islamic era. The architectural features of the buildings represent Islamic beliefs and symbols.
Among these structures, Alaviyan mosque-turned-dome stands straight through ages in Hamedan. The then mosque was originally made during the Seljuk times and later in the time of Alavi Dynasty changed into a mausoleum and burial place for the royal family.
The building has been renovated several times so far. It is registered as one of the national heritage sites in Iran.
