French fest honors Iran film

Iranian feature film ‘Ti Ti’ has grabbed an award at the Nouvelles Images Persanes film festival in France.

Ida Panahandeh’s award-winning film took its European premiere at the 1st edition of the French fest and took home the audience award.

‘Ti Ti’ narrates the story of a physicist working on an end-of-the-world theory. He meets a gypsy pregnant woman whose world view and want of humanity makes him fall in love with her. When the man falls into a coma, TiTi appeals to his gypsy origins and mystical powers to bring him back to life.

It is the beginning of an extraordinary meeting, which will turn the lives of the two characters upside down and that of those close to them.

Elnaz Shakerdoust, Parsa Pirouzfar, and Houtan Shakiba are the main cast members of the flick.

The film has already taken part in a number of global fests, including the Tokyo Int’l Film Festival in Japan and the Duhok Int’l Film Festival in Iraq. It is also set to take part in the Rabat Int’l Author Film Festival in Morocco.

DreamLab Films Company directed by Nasrin Mirshab is in charge of international distribution of the movie.

The Nouvelles Images Persanes film festival, which is named after ‘Persian Letters’ by French philosopher Charles Montesquieu, was held on November 10-14 in Virte city, France.
