Iranian ‘Hit the Road’ wins in the US

Iranian film ‘Hit the Road’ has won at the 36th edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) in the US.

Amin Simiar received an honorable mention in the Best Young Actor section for his role in the movie.

Written and directed by Panah Panahi, the feature film follows a chaotic, tender family that is on a road trip across a rugged landscape and fussing over the sick dog and getting on each other’s nerves. Only the mysterious older brother is quiet.

Hassan Majouni, Pantea Panahiha, Rayan Sarlak, and Amin Simiar are on the cast list of the 93-minute movie.

The film has taken part in the BFI London Film Festival in the UK, the Sydney Film Festival in Australia, the Vancouver International Film Festival in Canada, the Chicago International Film Festival in the US, and the Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland.

The latest edition of FLIFF screened over 200 films, from over 40 countries including the UK, Italy, France, Hungary, Spain, Cyprus, Australia, and Canada.

The fest was held on November 5-21, 2021.
