Iran doc screening at Georgian fest

Iranian short documentary ‘I Won’t Remain Alone’ has been screening at the Diogenes- Tbilisi International Short Film Internet Festival in Georgia.

Directed by Yasser Talebi, the 15-minute film that took 5 years to produce will be screened at the Georgian event’s 2nd round.

Being themed on forgiveness, love, humanity and immortality, ‘I Won’t Remain Alone’ follows the story of Sorayya and Seyyed-Jalal, an underprivileged old couple who lives in a distant village in northern Iran.

The two lost their son to an accident; however, they agreed to donate his organs. Five years later after their brave decision, a film crew visited them and recorded their slow path of reconciliation with death.

Previously, the doc has been screened at a number of international film festivals, including the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Japan and the Regina Int’l Film Festival & Awards in Canada.

Besides, Talebi, the director of the flick, has already attended many global events with his award-winning doc ‘Beloved’.

The Diogenes, which is an online event, accepts films in any digital format, including vertical such as movies shot with smart phones held vertically.

The festival that has been underway since November 30 will wrap up on December 10 and the winners will be announced on December 15.
