The feature ‘Until Tomorrow’ by Iranian director Ali Asgari has made its way to the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in Germany.

Iranian-French-Qatari ‘Until Tomorrow’ will take part in the Berlinale’s Panorama program.

“Student Fereshteh has to hide her illegitimate baby for one night from her parents who turn up for a surprise visit. Her friend Atefeh helps her. They embark on an odyssey through Tehran during which they must carefully weigh up who their allies are,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The participation of ‘Until Tomorrow’, which is produced by Iranian actress and filmmaker Niki Karimi, in the German event marks its world premiere.

The film's cast list includes names such as Sadaf Asgari, Ghazal Shojaei, Babak Karimi, Amirreza Ranjbaran, Nahal Dashti, and Mohammad Heidari.

Earlier reports said Iranian short film ‘Deer’ was also invited to take part in the 72nd edition of Berlinale.

The Berlin International Film Festival is “one of the largest public film festivals in the world, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from around the globe each year”, the website of the event reads.

The 72nd edition of the festival will be held on February 10-20, 2022 as an in-person event.
