Narcissus picking in Iran’s Fars Province

The picking season of narcissus on farms of Khafr County in Iran’s Fars Province is currently underway.

The harvest season begins in the middle of autumn and lasts until mid-winter.

It reaches its peak on Yalda Night, an ancient festival that marks the arrival of winter and the longest night of the year.

In Khafr, narcissus is planted among fruit trees in orchards with little water and is subsequently economical.
